USA Archery JOAD

What is JOAD?

USA Archery, the national governing body for the sport of archery, administers the Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) program.  JOAD is a grassroots development program that is most often organized in a club format by groups across the country. JOAD activities can range from beginner instruction through competition at the national level.  JOAD has an Achievement program were archer can earn tangible awards as they progress through increasingly more difficult scores.

What happens at a JOAD Club?

Clubs are led by USA Archery Level 2, and higher, certified instructors/coaches. Recreational and competitive archers are taught archery range safety, the basic steps of shooting and proper technique, tournament preparation, and other skills required to have success in the sport. Many clubs are managed by an advanced coach, who can take the archers beyond the basic skills and help them become top tournament performers.

When and Where are the Sessions?

Every Wednesday starting at 6:00pm we hold our JOAD session.  This session can last anywhere from an hour to two depending on the amount of student archers and format being shot.  Club address is 194 Fremont Rd Charleroi, PA 15022.

What is the Cost to Attend?

Every Wednesday starting at 6:00pm the class starts, right before each class starts the students are required to pay a $10.00 league fee.  This fee covers the teaching and range fees.

What Does a Student Need?

Students and parents will need to sign an insurance waiver.  Students are encouraged to have their own equipment but there are some bows at the club the kids can use.  Club bows are limited and may not fit the student perfectly but they will allow the student to find out if archery a sport they would like to pursue.
